A Freak Athlete is someone who is not only an athlete, but is also at the top of his or her game.
Someone who will DOMINATE in their field because they are passionate and driven and they damn right know it!
Does this sound like you?
Hell yeah!
I am talking about something that DRIVES YOU.
Something that MOVES YOU, to wanting to do better.
And I get it..
We all have our good and bad days.
Some days we may wake up feeling too tired, lazy, sore, too bloated, sick,
blah.. blah.. blah..
That’s the little voices in your head telling you that it’s too cold, too early, and too dark to get out of bed.
But you don’t listen to those voices.
The voice you have chosen to listen to is the voice telling you that you set that alarm clock for a reason, so get up, wash your face and go on and tackle the day like a champion.
You ready to tackle on the day, Freak Athlete?
Of course you are.
But first, let’s find out what type of Freak Athlete you are.
Before I reveal to you the first type of Freak Athlete, I would like you to first read this famous quote:
“I’ve wrestled with alligators,
I’ve tussled with a whale.
I done handcuffed lightning and threw thunder in jail.
You know I’m bad.
Just last week, I murdered a rock,
Injured a stone, hospitalized a brick.
I’m so mean, I make medicine sick.”
Can you guess where this famous quote comes from?
Of course you can, the man himself, Mohammad Ali.
We call him the 'Winner Freak Athlete'.
He is a Winner Freak Athlete because whatever he said he became.
He backed himself up 100% always because he believed in himself no matter what!
That is why we call him the 'Greatest', because he stood up in front of the world and said he was.
WOW, sounds crazy huh?
So in other words, if you are competitive, and love to be number 1 in your field, then you are likely a Winner Freak Athlete.
The second type of Freak Athlete we have is the 'Mentally Tough Freak Athlete'.
This type of Athlete is someone who works smart, rather than just hard.
Let’s take a look at Michael Jordan for example, the most famous basketball player of all time.
Michael Jordan is quoted saying:
“80% of the game is mental.”
He didn’t say 80% of the game is skill..
He didn’t even say 80% of the game is physical..
Why would the best player to ever grace the basketball court make such a powerful statement with so much confidence?
When you look at Michael Jordan or any of the other all-time greats, what you find is that it wasn’t their skill or physical ability that separated them (although it did help), it was their “mental toughness” or “competitive fire” or “drive for greatness”.
Some very powerful stuff huh?
Another great example is the famous “Wax-On, Wax-Off” scene in Karate Kid.
If you have not seen Karate kid, than I suggest you watch it..
Mr. Miyagi, teaches the young boy a different type of training style.
In this particular scene, ‘Daniel’ has just about had it with doing Mr. Miyagi’shouse chores for free.
He wanted to learn karate, not be his slave!
And then, right as he declares that he wants to quit, Mr. Miyagi calmly shows him that he has been teaching him karate the entire time.
Mind. Blown.
But, some people wonder, why didn’t Mr. Miyagi just explain this to Daniel in the beginning of his training, that the repetitive movements of waxing a car and painting a fence functioned as conditioning exercises in karate moves?
Surely he would have prevented the confusion, stress, and anger that Daniel went through.
Of course, it is because the sensei's true aim was to train Daniel's mind. The valuable should be learned is this: When Mr. Miyagi tells you to "wax on and wax off", just do it.
Do not expect or depend on any outcomes, and you will be rewarded with a special ability that cannot be attained in any other way.
OK lucky last.. we have the 'Triumphant Freak Athlete'.
So a Triumphant Freak Athlete is someone who has gone through great adversity in their life, who grinds every day, no matter what they are going through!
We believe everyone has their own unique story of why they are the person they are today.
Whatever it is, no matter who you are or where you come from.
Your story is unique, so own it!
Let’s take a look Venus Williams, a tennis super star.
She is a great example of a Triumphant Freak Athlete.
Venus Williams became the 1st African American female to become number 1in the sport of tennis.
She went on to break many barriers- between gender and color.
Some other great empowering stories are our 2 Athletes, Mike And Massimo.
You can read about them here.
You will be blown away about their crazy stories of strength and triumph over adversity.
If you consider yourself as a Triumphant Freak Athlete, I envy your strength and resilience.
In fact every one of you.
No matter if you are a Winner Freak Athlete,
Mentally Tough Freak Athlete
or even a Triumphant Freak Athlete.
You have passion and strength, a powerful mindset, and the ability to reach goals, create new ones and smash them again.
I want to say thank you for taking your time to read to the end, and I am glad that you found interest in what we believe a Freak Athlete actually is..
